New Zealand duo Black City Lights released their album 'Another Life' recently, an album that included the excellent single 'Offering', but it sounds like they may have been saving the best. 'Tried So Hard' is a wonderful and passionate track. There's still no escaping the touch of Beach House to their music, but this song is something of a majestic epic.

Deep Sea Arcade - Seen No Right
Sydney's psych-rock masters Deep Sea Arcade released their album 'Outlands' last year, but it's taken a while to filter through to the UK. They impressed with single 'Granite City' earlier this year, but 'Seen No Right' could be even better. It's one of those songs that's an instant hit of relentlessly brilliant guitar sounds that are fresh and full of life.

Mirror Blossoms & Rachel Reindhardt - Lost In The Forest
Sunderland musician Liam Robson had been creating music as a solo project called Mirror Blossoms, but recently he began working with Rachel Reindhardt on new material, resulting in their first demo together: 'Lost In The Forest'. A dreamy acoustic number, it has an air of fantasy to it, and if you're a fan then watch this space, as the pair have more music planned.

Oum Shatt - Hot Hot Cold Cold
We don't have a lot of info on Berlin band Oum Shatt except that their seems to be three of them and they have a four track EP which is either out now or will be soon. Anyway, 'Hot Hot Cold Cold' is on it and it's a top experimental rock track that manages to sound a bit like Talking Heads if they embraced dance music a little more.

Drift Wood Miracle - Sister
Don't think for a minute about being put off by the fact that this song is over eight minutes. 'Sister' is the closing track to US band Drift Wood Miracle's debut album 'The 21st' and it's worth every second. Naturally you'd expect something like this to build from a steady start to a crescendo of a finish, and that's pretty much the size of it. It's awesome.
